Job Description

Sierra Pacific Industries IT Department is seeking an experienced professional with strong work ethic and excellent people skills to join our professional IT team in Anderson, CA.


Manage voice and network support for both office and manufacturing environments:
• Plan, order and support all voice and data/network circuits
• Continually research options for improved reliability, speed and better cost efficiency for existing services
• Monitor existing voice and data circuits and track all trouble tickets for on-site issues
• Manage services and contracts with telecommunication vendors to maintain business relationships
• Perform periodic bill review / audits for all telecom billing
• Work with vendors to resolve problems and provide for new service(s) when needed
• Manage the ShoreTel VOIP environment:
      • Provide users with necessary training and on-going support
      • Interpret, prioritize and garner proper approval for all user requests
Supervise staff performing the following functions:
• Mobile device purchasing, deployment and support
• Payment and reconciliation of all telecommunication and wireless invoices
• Monitoring for accuracy, usage, required services and adequate documentation


Requires at least 2 years’ experience with telecommunications systems and support:
• Basic PBX, VOIP and network troubleshooting
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, VLANS, VOIP & PBX systems
• Knowledge of CAT5 / CAT6 cable wiring requirements
• Familiarity with Windows 7 - 10 operating systems
• Basic Cisco router and switch troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of DSL, T1, Fiber Optic, IPFLEX, Wireless, MPLS, WAN’s, LAN’s and related technologies
Familiarity with the following will be considered beneficial:
• Knowledge of fiber options, installation and switching
• Cisco Routers & Switches, ShoreTel VOIP & Nortel PBX’s
• Network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds “Orion” or equivalent
Personal Skills and Qualities:
• Integrity, initiative and the ability to work autonomously are important qualities for this position
• Excellent customer service skills; polite, professional and efficient communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and perform under stressful situations
• Candidates must live in the Redding area
