The position reports to the Environmental Manager and is focused on compliance assurance, process improvement, waste reduction, and efficiency throughout the Company’s facilities. This position works closely with Cogeneration Supervisors, Environmental/Safety Coordinators, and Division Managers. This position will be based in either Eugene, OR or Shelton, WA, depending on the selected candidate’s preference.

About The Position
• Provide training and technical support to managers and supervisors
• Develop the environmental skills and knowledge of Environmental/Safety Coordinators
• Assist mills with managing consultants and contractors performing environmental services
• Review environmental compliance programs for air emissions, water discharges, and boiler ash use
• Develop technical, administrative, and/or contractual solutions to identified problems
• Manage/execute environmental and energy projects as directed, which may include:
o Emissions controls or monitoring system upgrades
o Annual emissions source tests
o Stormwater system design and construction
o Toxic release inventory reporting
o Greenhouse gas inventory reporting
o Assist remediation efforts at closed sites
o Prepare designs/work plans for identified projects
• Conduct inspections/audits of pollution control equipment and related systems
• Maintain an understanding of, and ensure compliance with, current Federal, State, Local, and Company regulations and policy

Qualifications
• 3 or more years’ experience with industrial processes
• Bachelor of Science in engineering or related field strongly preferred
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and State environmental regulations
• Knowledge of air and water permits
• Ability to work independently, analyze problems, and make decisions with minimal management intervention
• Travel periodically with occasional extended time away from home
• Proven commitment to safety and Company policy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under demanding circumstances
• Understand quality assurance and process improvement techniques
• Solid working knowledge of Word and Excel, and ability to learn various PC based reporting system applications
