Electrician - High Voltage

Job Description

Sierra Pacific Industries is seeking a qualified, High Voltage Electrician based out of our Anderson, CA location. This is a unique opportunity to work on a wide range of equipment from substation protection and metering equipment to process control devices at cogen power plants. The successful candidate will be able to repair, construct, and maintain high/medium voltage power distribution equipment along with low voltage equipment.

About The Position
• Troubleshoot high, medium and low voltage systems
• Work with contractors to organize repairs and maintenance of power distribution systems
• Assist in emergency repairs of medium voltage systems
• Install conduit, pull and terminate wires using appropriate tools and methods
• Install, disconnect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical motors
• Troubleshoot and maintain ethernet and other communication networks
• Hands on programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance of advanced control systems
• Commission, program, and troubleshoot VFD’s
• Use PLC functions and tools to troubleshoot cogen equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and diagnosis on equipment
• Perform job duties in a safe and efficient manner and maintain a clean work area
• Travel will be required

Qualifications
• 2-year technical degree in related field with relevant experience or Journeyman Electrician Certification with related field work or 4 years of industrial experience with verifiable proficiency in the primary duties listed
• Knowledge of programming structures and techniques such as PID, data handling, UDT’s, etc. preferred
• Experience effectively leading projects while working with contractors and project leaders preferred
• Ability to manage time and priorities under demanding circumstances
• Excellent communication, listening, and reasoning skills
• Proven commitment to safety and Company policy
