Fiber Products
Sierra Pacific Industries continues to seek new and innovative methods to utilize 100% of its forest resource. During each sawing and milling operation, state-of-the-art technology, machinery, and skilled operators yield the maximum wood fiber from the logs or lumber. Chips, bark, shavings, and sawdust are the by-products that are produced from lumber and millwork manufacturing. Today, 100% of the wood fiber coming from the forest is used in one form or another to provide products for consumers.
Walk On Bark
The small bark nuggets that don’t make it through one of the various screens are combined with small white wood pieces to create this product. It is a mix of bark nuggets and white wood.
Ash
Wood fiber is burned in our Cogeneration plant to create energy. The residual fiber is screened into a 3/8" minus, midnight black product. SPI's ash is OMRI listed.
Cedar Bark
As our cedar logs are de-barked, the bark is processed through a hog, resulting in this stringy, brightly colored product. Its matting abilities make this product an ideal groundcover for hillsides and uneven areas.
