Engineer - Mechanical

Mechanical Engineering Interns will work directly with a team of experienced engineers to assist in the design and rebuilding of lumber manufacturing equipment. Sierra Pacific Industries is seeking motivated individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in mechanical engineering and machine design.


Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist full time engineers with drafting and seeing projects and sub assembly projects through the manufacturing process
  • Take on small projects that involve designing or rebuilding wood products equipment
  • Rotate through various hands-on processes within the shop
  • Work and gain experience in a full-on fabrication, machining, and tech shop

Qualifications
  • Preference to those currently in second or third year of engineering school, in or related to mechanical systems
  • Completed coursework in a 3D modeling class or competent in Solidworks
  • Possess strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of basic welding and machining procedures
  • Interested in machinery and mechanical systems

Base Location: Anderson, California, Eugene, Oregon, or Shelton, Washington
