We train and promote from withinSelected interns help SPI’s Reforestation Professionals to implement the establishment and maintenance of our planted forests to ensure they flourish and produce high quality timber products for our sawmills. The Reforestation Intern’s primary duties include: aiding in area layout and preparation, vegetation cover assessments, stocking surveys, and plantation thinning administration.
Opportunities also include working with SPI’s Vegetation Management Specialists to establish and maintain our fuel break network and landscape fuels reduction areas to ensure the protection and long-term health of our forests. Interns will also have the opportunity to spend time at our new state-of-the-art nursery and aid in our advanced tree improvement program.
